With the Piz Nair St. Martiz Sunrise e you have an unprecedented view of the Alps this winter:
On the one hand it is an experience I will never forget and on the other hand it is a spectacle that everyone can enjoy.
I just had to see this sunrise myself. So I decided to go on this little adventure.
Early in the morning before 6 a.m., yes I'm serious, on a Sunday I trudged through the still somewhat sleepy St. Moritz in my ski gear. What do you wear to such an event was my first thought, since on the one hand a wonderful breakfast in the panorama restaurant on the Piz Nair and a wonderful day of skiing were on the agenda. I decided on a wintry ski look with a classic cashmere sweater and diamond ear studs as well as a pendant with the beautiful St. Moritz sun, for which I recently acquired the production license. So I made my way to the meeting point. The bright light of a neon sun as street lighting was the only sun in the night sky so far and illuminated my way from the parking garage to the valley station of the ST. MORITZ DORF – CHANTARELLA . Like-minded people were already gathered here, all still a bit sleepy and looking forward to the early ascent.
After two funiculars to Corviglia and the gondola to Piz Nair in total darkness, the fantastic panorama awaited us on the mountain, almost kitschy the first dawn came to light and everyone ecstatically whipped out their cameras and mobile phones to capture this unique moment. At -13°C, the stay outside was rather short and everyone looked for their place in the restaurant, which was lovingly hand-written with place cards. after a hot coffee, fresh fruit and scrambled eggs, the atmosphere became relaxed and everyone looked at the surrounding mountains, which slowly began to light up.
The warm colors in red and yellow and all their variants played like magic with the blue in the sky and enchanted the panorama in a majestic play of colors.
At 7:48 a.m. the time had finally come and the sun climbed over the mountain top as a fiery red ball and the winter landscape shone in a bright, luminous white. A moment of silence and pausing, although you had already seen this moment on hundreds of postcards, films and commercials and knew exactly what you were getting into, the moment is magical when you experience it yourself and the size and beauty of our nature takes hold of you Again and again.
Breakfast is set up until 9 a.m. and it is a wonderful way to start the morning with stimulating conversations with a friend and then to ski a fresh slope first and spend a wonderful day of skiing, because it is right in the morning the snow is perfect to ski, there are few people and you have the sublime feeling that the mountain is only there for you. Enjoj and have a happy Sunday. But even those who don't ski can take the gondola back to Corviglia and then take a wonderful winter walk in the morning sun.
